About Me

Nicholas Hune-Brown is a Toronto-based freelance journalist, playwright, and musician. His work has appeared in Toronto Life, The Walrus, The Toronto Star, Maisonneuve, Guilt and Pleasure, and he is the former Arts & Ideas Editor at This Magazine. His investigative piece on Chinese-language newspapers for Toronto Life was included in the anthology Best Canadian Essays 2009. He enjoys writing about himself in the third-person.

With co-writer Ben King, Hune-Brown wrote and composed LOTR: The Musical: The Musical! (Patron’s Pick, 2007 Toronto Fringe Festival) and Just East of Broadway (Patron’s Pick, 2009 Toronto Fringe Festival). He is currently writing the 2010 Ross Petty family musical with co-writer Lorna Wright.
